Tax File Number Submission Form
As is common with other financial institutions, the CDF Community Fund is required to report annual interest income to the Australian Taxation Office. This means that interest earned on your CDF Community Fund account will automatically appear pre-filled in your annual income tax return.
To facilitate this reporting, we ask that each account holder provides their Tax File Number (TFN) to the CDF Community Fund as soon as possible.
You are under no obligation to provide your TFN or TFN exemption to the CDF Community Fund however, if you choose not to do so, interest earned on your investment will be subject to TFN withholding tax of 47%. Note that any tax withheld by the CDF Community Fund will be shown as a credit against other income tax levied by the ATO on your annual Notice of Assessment.
If the account is held in trust for a child, an exemption may be quoted where the interest earned is less than $120 p.a.
